Aave V4 Launches 3 Ethereum Lending Markets With Sentora as First External Curator

Aave has introduced three externally curated lending markets on Ethereum through its V4 protocol, appointing institutional decentralized finance platform Sentora as the first independent curator. Announced on October 22, 2026, the deployment enables borrowing of Ripple’s RLUSD, PayPal’s PYUSD and Origin Protocol’s OUSD against selected yield-bearing and blue-chip collateral. The launch adds a new layer of specialized risk management to Aave’s lending infrastructure while keeping the underlying smart contracts under decentralized autonomous organization (DAO) governance. Sentora says it has allocated more than $2 billion across on-chain strategies.

Aave V4 Introduces Three Lending Markets

The new deployment uses Aave V4’s Hub-and-Spoke architecture, which separates liquidity management from the individual markets through which users borrow. Liquidity Hubs hold assets, while Spokes define specific borrowing environments, collateral requirements and risk parameters.

Sentora operates three markets on Ethereum, each designed for a different borrowing strategy. The RLUSD Yield and OUSD Yield markets support borrowing against USDe, PRIME, mWIN and PST collateral. The Bluechip market allows users to borrow RLUSD, PYUSD or OUSD against kBTC, a tokenized Bitcoin asset.

The markets are available through Aave Pro, the protocol’s interface for V4 lending and borrowing. Their dedicated liquidity structure is intended to contain market-specific risks rather than expose Aave’s core pools directly to every collateral decision.

Sentora’s role covers collateral selection, interest-rate settings, risk parameters and price-oracle configuration. These controls determine which assets borrowers can pledge, how much they can borrow and how loans are priced.

DAO Governance Retains Key Safeguards

Although Sentora manages day-to-day market parameters, the Aave DAO retains ownership of the underlying smart contracts and administrative authority. This arrangement gives an independent curator operational flexibility without transferring control of Aave’s core infrastructure.

Risk-increasing parameter changes face a 48-hour on-chain timelock, providing a review window before they take effect. New assets must also pass Aave governance review before listing.

Key features of the deployment include:

  • Three markets: RLUSD Yield, OUSD Yield and Bluechip.
  • Borrowable stablecoins: RLUSD, PYUSD and OUSD.
  • Curator responsibilities: Collateral selection, pricing and risk configuration.
  • Governance safeguards: DAO oversight, asset reviews and a 48-hour timelock for risk-increasing changes.

These controls matter because lending protocols can incur losses when collateral values fall sharply or borrowers cannot repay their positions. Market separation can help contain exposure, although it does not eliminate smart-contract, liquidity or collateral risks.

Stablecoins Expand Institutional DeFi Access

The launch also reflects growing efforts to bring institution-focused digital assets into decentralized finance. RLUSD, issued by Ripple, and PYUSD, issued by PayPal, give users additional dollar-linked borrowing options beyond established stablecoins such as USDT and USDC. OUSD offers another route for accessing dollar-denominated value through Origin Protocol.

The US regulatory environment is also evolving. On October 21, the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency announced a final rule implementing the GENIUS Act, with the rule scheduled to take effect on January 18, 2027. The framework addresses payment-stablecoin issuance, reserves, redemption and related oversight, although its requirements do not automatically apply identically to every DeFi protocol or token.

Conclusion

Sentora’s deployment gives Aave V4 three specialized Ethereum lending markets while preserving DAO ownership and governance safeguards. Its longer-term significance will depend on borrower demand, liquidity growth, risk performance and whether additional curators adopt the model.
