Binance Launches Physical Options on 1,000+ Stocks, Volume Hits $433B

Binance launched physically settled options on more than 1,000 U.S.-listed stocks and ETFs on Sept. 1, 2026, giving eligible users outside the United States the ability to buy calls and puts on names like Tesla and Nvidia that settle into actual shares rather than a cash payout. The launch extends a TradFi buildout that pushed Binance’s monthly equity-linked perpetual futures volume to roughly $433.4 billion in August — about 15 times January’s $29.5 billion.

How Binance Stock Options Work

The product runs through a regulated broker chain rather than Binance holding securities directly. Nest Trading Limited, authorized by the Financial Services Regulatory Authority of Abu Dhabi Global Market, acts as introducing broker and routes orders to Alpaca Securities LLC, a U.S.-registered, FINRA-member broker-dealer that handles execution, clearing, settlement, and custody. Binance says it does not custody user securities itself, and discloses it may receive payment for order flow on routed trades.

Phase one keeps the risk profile deliberately narrow:

  • Long-only: Users can buy calls or puts but cannot write options or hold uncovered short positions, capping maximum loss at the premium paid.
  • Limit orders only, funded from a required Funding Account alongside Spot and Flexible Earn balances, in USDC, USDT, USD1, U, or BNB.
  • U.S. market hours: 9:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. ET for most stocks, extending to 4:15 p.m. ET for select ETF and ETN contracts, with no pre-market or after-hours trading.

Exercise requests must be submitted up to 30 minutes before the cut-off on expiration day; positions left without instruction are auto-liquidated on a best-efforts basis before market close. Users can check whether a given ticker has options available by opening its price page and looking for an “Options” tab, since Binance hasn’t published a full list of supported names.

Where Options Fit Into Binance’s TradFi Stack

Stock options are the fourth layer of a buildout that started in June 2026, when Binance opened commission-free direct trading in more than 7,000 U.S. stocks and ETFs, reporting $400 million in assets under management within a week. Shortly after, bStocks launched as ADGM-approved tokenized certificates on BNB Chain, convertible 1:1 into the underlying share. Cash-settled gold and silver options followed in July.

Binance’s own research shows users increasingly treat that stack as one portfolio: more than half of bStocks users also trade perpetuals or direct equities, and over 40% entered Binance’s TradFi products through the tokenized layer first. Binance Head of Exchange and Trading Shunyet Jan said stock options represent an important next step in the exchange’s evolution into a fuller multi-asset platform.

The competitive backdrop is moving quickly. Bybit plans to launch 24/7 options tied to stock perpetuals on Sept. 17, starting with SpaceX and Nvidia exposure — a structurally different product that settles in USDT rather than delivering physical shares.

Conclusion

Physical settlement is what separates this launch from Binance’s earlier commodity options and tokenized equities: a winning call now becomes an actual, custodied equity position rather than a cash payout or blockchain token. Combined with direct stock trading and tokenized certificates, Binance has now built most of the standard architecture of an equities brokerage — execution, custody, and now derivatives — inside a single crypto-native account, narrowing the functional gap between crypto exchanges and traditional brokers for users outside the U.S.
