Bitcoin ETF inflows climbed to $233.1 million, the highest in three weeks, as BlackRock led demand despite Bitcoin falling below $64K.
ETF Demand Rebounds Strongly
Institutional investors returned to the Bitcoin market with renewed confidence as U.S. spot Bitcoin exchange-traded funds (ETFs) attracted $233.1 million in net inflows on Thursday, marking the strongest single-day performance in more than three weeks. The surge came even as Bitcoin struggled to maintain momentum and slipped below the $64,000 level, highlighting a growing divergence between institutional investment activity and short-term market sentiment.
Leading the day’s performance was BlackRock’s iShares Bitcoin Trust (IBIT), which generated $183.4 million in net inflows. That represented nearly 78.7% of all capital entering U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs during the session, reinforcing BlackRock’s dominant position in the market.
Other major funds also posted positive results. Bitwise’s BITB attracted $20.7 million, while Fidelity’s FBTC added $15.5 million. Several competing ETFs also recorded modest gains, contributing to a broad-based recovery across the sector.
The latest figures reversed earlier weekly weakness, lifting cumulative weekly inflows to $203.84 million. If Friday avoids significant redemptions exceeding that amount, Bitcoin ETFs will record their fourth consecutive week of positive net inflows, underscoring continued institutional participation despite market volatility.
Key ETF highlights:
- Total daily Bitcoin ETF inflows reached $233.1 million.
- BlackRock accounted for 78.7% of total inflows.
- Weekly net inflows improved to $203.84 million.
- July inflows have climbed to $437.8 million.
Bitcoin Faces Selling Pressure
Despite robust ETF demand, Bitcoin failed to sustain its latest recovery attempt. The cryptocurrency opened the trading session near $64,500 before advancing toward the $65,000 mark. Buyers briefly pushed the price above $65,200, but selling pressure quickly erased the gains, sending Bitcoin back below $64,000.
The rejection suggests that short-term traders remain active sellers near resistance levels, limiting upside momentum even as institutional investors continue accumulating exposure through regulated investment products.
This divergence illustrates an important market dynamic. While ETFs reflect longer-term investment strategies from professional asset managers and institutional clients, the spot market remains heavily influenced by short-term trading activity, profit-taking, and broader macroeconomic uncertainty.
Although price weakness has persisted, sustained ETF inflows indicate that large investors continue viewing market pullbacks as attractive entry opportunities rather than reasons to reduce exposure.
Ethereum ETFs Extend Momentum
Institutional demand also remained positive for Ethereum. U.S. spot Ethereum ETFs recorded $13.3 million in net inflows on Thursday, extending a month of improving investor participation.
July has represented a significant turnaround for Ethereum funds. The ETFs experienced net outflows on only five trading sessions throughout the month. By comparison, June produced positive inflows on just four trading days, reflecting a dramatic improvement in investor sentiment.
The recovery across both Bitcoin and Ethereum ETFs suggests that institutional appetite for digital assets remains resilient. While cryptocurrency prices continue to face short-term volatility, consistent capital inflows into regulated investment vehicles point to strengthening long-term confidence among professional investors and asset managers.
