U.S. XRP ETFs have crossed a notable threshold, collectively holding about 1.13 billion XRP worth $1.69 billion as of Sept. 29. The milestone highlights the expansion of institutional exposure to XRP through exchange-traded products, although the market remains substantially smaller than the established Bitcoin ETF and Ethereum ETF sectors. Maketo data show XRP ETF assets increased from $1.44 billion on Aug. 28 to $1.69 billion on Sept. 29, a gain of about 16.9%.
XRP ETFs Cross 1 Billion Tokens
The latest XRP ETF holdings data show five U.S. funds holding approximately 1.13 billion XRP. Their combined holdings were valued at $1.69 billion based on Sept. 29 closing prices. About $153 million of the monthly increase came from new money entering the funds, while the remainder reflected changes in XRP’s market price.
The largest position belonged to the Bitwise XRP ETF, with roughly 415 million XRP valued at $619 million. Franklin’s XRP fund held about 293 million XRP, while Canary’s fund held roughly 251 million XRP. 21Shares and Grayscale accounted for smaller portions of the combined holdings.
The figures provide a useful measure of how much XRP is being held through regulated market vehicles rather than directly by investors. An exchange-traded fund allows investors to obtain market exposure through a brokerage account while the fund handles custody of the underlying asset.
Bitcoin Still Leads the ETF Market
The scale of XRP’s ETF expansion becomes clearer when compared with Bitcoin. Bitbo’s tracker showed U.S. Bitcoin ETFs holding approximately 1.292 million BTC, worth about $107.8 billion, as of Sept. 30. That represented roughly 6.15% of Bitcoin’s 21 million maximum supply.
BlackRock’s IBIT alone held about 801,147 BTC, valued at more than $66.8 billion in the Sept. 30 snapshot. That single Bitcoin ETF therefore held considerably more Bitcoin than the entire XRP ETF group holds in dollar terms.
Ethereum also has a much larger U.S. ETF market. Maketo’s Sept. 28 data showed U.S. Ethereum funds holding approximately 6.6 million ETH worth $17.76 billion, up 16.2% from $15.27 billion a month earlier.
XRP Growth Gains Institutional Attention
The comparison does not diminish the pace of XRP ETF expansion. Crossing one billion tokens held by U.S. funds gives the asset a measurable institutional footprint, while continued asset growth indicates that investors are using crypto ETFs to gain exposure.

ETF flows can also vary significantly from one session to another. XRP has recorded sessions in which its products attracted inflows while larger Bitcoin and Ethereum funds experienced withdrawals, showing that daily demand can diverge from the longer-term size of each market.
Key figures from the latest holdings data include:
- XRP ETFs: 1.13 billion XRP, about $1.69 billion
- Bitcoin ETFs: 1.292 million BTC, about $107.8 billion
- Ethereum ETFs: 6.6 million ETH, about $17.76 billion
- XRP ETF monthly growth: 16.9% from Aug. 28 to Sept. 29
Conclusion
The U.S. XRP ETF market has reached 1.13 billion XRP, marking a significant expansion in exchange-traded exposure to the token. Yet the size gap with Bitcoin and Ethereum remains substantial. Bitcoin ETFs held about $107.8 billion in assets as of Sept. 30, while Ethereum funds held roughly $17.76 billion a day earlier. The key development for XRP is therefore the pace at which institutional holdings have accumulated since U.S. spot products emerged.
