NVIDIA, Samsung Launch $2B AI Factory Powered by 50,000 GPUs

NVIDIA Corporation (NASDAQ: NVDA) and Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd. (KRX: 005930) have unveiled a landmark plan to build a next-generation AI factory powered by more than 50,000 NVIDIA GPUs, marking a major leap in the convergence of artificial intelligence and semiconductor manufacturing.

Announced Thursday, the state-of-the-art facility will act as the core of Samsung’s digital transformation, using NVIDIA’s advanced computing infrastructure to enhance chip design, production, and automation.

“We are at the dawn of the AI industrial revolution — a new era that will redefine how the world designs, builds, and manufactures,” said Jensen Huang, founder and CEO of NVIDIA.

Samsung’s Executive Chairman Jay Y. Lee emphasized that the two companies’ collaboration stretches back to 1995, when Samsung first supplied DRAM chips for NVIDIA’s early graphics cards. This new partnership aims to set a global benchmark for AI-driven semiconductor innovation, combining computing power with manufacturing precision.

AI Transforms Semiconductor Manufacturing

The new AI factory will use NVIDIA’s Omniverse platform to develop digital twins of Samsung’s global fabs, enabling real-time simulation of production workflows and predictive maintenance. This integration is expected to cut design-to-operation time significantly and boost overall production efficiency.

Samsung is also deploying NVIDIA RTX PRO Servers equipped with RTX PRO 6000 Blackwell Server Edition GPUs to accelerate intelligent logistics and automated decision-making across its semiconductor operations.

In lithography—a cornerstone of chip manufacturing—Samsung has adopted NVIDIA’s cuLitho library, achieving 20x faster performance in computational lithography, which will allow faster patterning and higher yield rates.

Key highlights of the partnership:

  • Over 50,000 NVIDIA GPUs powering Samsung’s AI factory
  • 20x performance boost in semiconductor lithography via cuLitho
  • Use of digital twins to optimize global fab operations
  • RTX PRO Servers driving intelligent automation and logistics

Expanding AI Collaboration in South Korea

Beyond manufacturing, the collaboration extends to robotics, telecommunications, and mobile innovation. Samsung is leveraging NVIDIA’s robotics platforms to enhance automation and develop humanoid robots for industrial and consumer applications.

Additionally, NVIDIA and Samsung are partnering with Korean telecom operators and academic institutions to develop AI-RAN network technology, fusing AI with next-generation mobile networks.

This project follows NVIDIA’s broader AI expansion in South Korea, which includes collaborations with SK Group, Hyundai Motor Group, and the South Korean government to strengthen the country’s AI infrastructure and industrial competitiveness.

As the AI era accelerates, the NVIDIA-Samsung alliance signals a strategic shift toward AI-powered manufacturing ecosystems, setting the stage for global transformation in both technology and industry.
