Ripple Moves $50M in XRP to Binance in Subwallet Transfers

Ripple moved 50 million XRP, worth more than $50 million, from its treasury toward Binance-associated wallets this week, according to on-chain tracker Whale Alert, sparking speculation within the XRP community amid a recent pullback in the token’s price. The transfer pattern, an internal move followed by staged transfers to exchange-linked addresses, closely resembles routine liquidity operations Ripple has conducted before, though the timing drew added attention given XRP’s weekly decline.

Tracing the Transfer Path

On-chain data from XRPScan shows Ripple’s primary wallet, known as Ripple (50), first moved the 50 million XRP internally to a subwallet address, raRVLN1i5QFF6w8cwV3RovtTkjFj3qyNRf, a transaction that by itself represents nothing more than internal fund reorganization. Shortly afterward, that same subwallet began distributing coins in structured batches, primarily 1,000,000 XRP per transaction, to a separate address, rBNCyN, which is associated with Binance. Ripple-linked wallets have sent a cumulative 23 million XRP to that rBNCyN address so far this week, with the tokens subsequently forwarded to Binance’s main hot wallet, identified on-chain as Binance (11).

The staged, batch-based transfer pattern is consistent with how Ripple has historically operated its on-demand liquidity (ODL) program and market-making activities, moving tokens to exchanges in controlled increments rather than as a single bulk transfer. That structure typically points to operational liquidity management rather than an attempt to exit a large position quickly, though the market can’t distinguish intent from on-chain data alone, which is why transfers of this size routinely generate speculation regardless of their underlying purpose.

XRP Holds Above $1 Despite Falling Volume

XRP traded near $1.01 on Tuesday, rebounding roughly 1.5% after briefly dipping below the psychologically significant $1.00 level a day earlier. The token’s 24-hour range spanned $1.00 to $1.02, even as trading volume fell 24% over the same period, a divergence that suggests the bounce came on lighter conviction than the price action alone would imply. XRP remains down more than 7% over the past week, still consolidating below the descending channel that has capped its recovery attempts.

Derivatives data offered a more constructive signal. Coinglass figures show total XRP futures open interest climbed more than 0.75% over 24 hours to $2.72 billion, with four-hour open interest rebounding 0.74%. That aggregate figure masked a split by venue: open interest fell 1.18% on CME, the primary venue for regulated institutional futures, while it rose on Binance, OKX, Bybit, and other offshore exchanges, pointing to more active retail and international positioning than institutional conviction during the session.

  • Ripple-linked wallets sent 23 million XRP to Binance-associated addresses over the past week, in addition to the 50 million XRP transfer flagged Tuesday
  • XRP futures open interest rose to $2.72 billion, though CME open interest fell 1.18% even as offshore exchange interest increased

Conclusion

Ripple’s wallet activity this week reflects operational liquidity management more than a clear directional signal, but the transfers landed at a moment when XRP’s price action was already fragile, amplifying scrutiny that a similar move might not draw during a stronger rally. With trading volume declining even as price recovers and open interest data split between institutional and offshore venues, XRP’s next move likely hinges on whether buyers can hold the $1.00 support level with conviction, rather than on any single wallet transaction from Ripple’s treasury.
